I had a parachute malfunction on last skydive. So grateful to have a reserve. Base jumpers just don’t have the time or distance to ground to have a reserve. I’m glad he survived.

Skydiver here, what happened; his riser (small fabric above his head) got tangled with his toggles (lines that drop and allow steering by pulling either side) so he had no control. Don't spend more than a few seconds on a problem when you're that low. He could've grabbed the main lines of his chute and steered using brute force basically. I've had a similar incident but landed in the cactus filled desert and not snow. 😁
