I stumbled across these eggs completely by accident on a local farm shop honesty stall (having gone there just to get ordinary hen's eggs) - couldn't resist trying something new, so here we are...

I love how Eva gives her paw so elegantly! She’s like a proud old 19th century lady that is gracing you the gift of allowing you to hold her hand and weirdly you feel thankful for the honour 😂

The bird on the photo is a male pheasant. They do not produce eggs no matter how hard you squeeze them. I know for I have tried.

I always give my dog the "last bite". Has made her quite the patient pup.

In Germany this type of pheasants are called "Jagdfasan" (literally hunting pheasant) because they have been brought from Asia to Europe for the sole purpose of being hunted.

My dad raises pheasants, so I'll periodically get a few eggs to play with. Suppose what they're feed may make a difference in flavor since his have richer yolks than chicken eggs. Anyway, I *HIGHLY* recommend using them in baking. I haven't experimented a ton, but it seems adding about 1.5 times what a recipe calls for is a good starting point. Definitely added a dimension to my banana bread.

A great way of doing them is poaching or lightly boiling.
Using as fried eggs is maybe not the best way of using them.
Seems good never the less

What a sweet dog, gives her paw just like mine: very tentative whilst inspecting the merchandise to make sure it's not poisoned, gently takes it then snatches her paw back to signal that she's finished playing our game until the next tasty morsel comes along.

I remember back to my mid teens, I found a nest of pheasant eggs in a cauliflower field. I later found another. In all I had 19 eggs. I was working in the field and was hungry by the time I got home. I thought that I would have scrambled eggs, I scrambled all 19 and had them with a few slices of bread and butter. I've never had egg that tasted as good as those eggs.

I love that Marigold vegan bouillon! It's great just as a hot drink, and for getting salt/electrolytes during a fast.

Interesting. We boiled whole, peeled and soaked in a sauce or pickled them. It's more of a cocktail food in the Far East

Don’t skip the chopping Mike. I find following along the whole process including the nitty gritty bits whilst you ramble is always educational but also makes you feel more like a friend than just a content creator.

Ye Olde Englysh tongue twister:

I'm not the pheasant plucker, I'm the pheasant plucker's son.
I'm only plucking pheasants 'til the pheasant plucker comes.

Repeat until you say a rude word.

I just love hearing Eva's little plaintive quests for a bit of what you're eating! Darling little doggie.

I love the way Eva sniffs the food suspiciously first. My cat, the late Tiberius Maximus always did this. JUST in case THIS was the poisoned piece.

Pheasants are common in Finland, but I have never eaten its meat, let alone its egg. Sounds interesting!

btw I tried my own take on your nettle soup and it was absolutely scrumptious! ❤️ We've had it quite a few times this season, thanks a lot! 👍🏼

Thank you for sharing with your dog. My dogs get homemade food, and last night I, and they, had beans on toast and a fried egg.

Don't have much to say other than that I enjoy your videos and am glad you're staying safe in these bizarre times. You always seem like a true gent in your videos and I enjoy the sometimes bizarre content. My favourite stuff of yours is your nature, foraging, and cooking videos

The more I watch your channel the more annoyed I become with people claiming you abuse your dog...Infuriating. Doggo (human) trainer for 15 years and never have I seen such a loving bond between human and fur kiddo. If she feared you in any way, she'd not be patiently sitting by your side knowing she'll receive a special snack. The second you let her off leash, she'd bolt. That lil pupper loves you heart and soul because you love her. Truly a shame people will judge a beautiful relationship based off of a 2 second moment they obviously don't understand.

Honestly, if every human/canine relationship was as purely genuine and understanding as yours and Eva's, I'd be out of a job lol. And I would welcome that 🙂
