Incessant Mind

This piano piece of mine was hard to record as especially the right hand has almost no breaks at all throughout the whole thing. And on top of that add the tempo, the quintuplets, and polyrhythmic shenanigans :D Lots of practice to make the idea of the piece reality!

Anyway, it´s not only fun to play but also means a lot to me. I´m totally in the flow everytime I play it and I hope your listening (and watching) experience will be the same.

The title is referring to both the merits of conscious thinking and the dangers of compulsive thinking. To me it reflects the strong grip our mind can have on us, sometimes without us becoming fully conscious of it. It almost never stops - just like the notes in the piece. It´s an enormous power that can be of such great use, as we all know. But it can also lead to us forgetting that we´re more than thoughts. For between thoughts I AM :)

Man. That was incredible. Its dark, violent, reminiscent of "do not go gently into the night". And then in the 3-4 minute mark theres that humanity. And then the joyful inventiveness after that is just awesome.
