The funny thing is that this is the first song of the season, nobody except Tim Akkerman (curly hair) know her, she sings this for Henk Poort, I guess on the face expressions you should recognize which of the people it is, he doesn’t know who Floor Jansen is and what she can, after the season they performed several times together and as a highlight they sing phantom of the opera live whit Nightwish in Amsterdam last year, which I seen live because I was there to😊😊😊

A bit of background on tis performance. This performance is from a Dutch TV show called Beste Zangers. The premise of it is to take singers from different genres of music, bring them together, get to know them and each other, and sing songs to the person featured on the center couch, in which the person featured either wrote or sang themselves, or has significant meaning in their lives. THIS SHOW IS NOT A COMPETITION SHOW. In this case, Henk Poort (the older guy on the couch) is featured this week, and is a well known opera singer and actor. He has performed as Jean Valjean in Les Miserables, and the Phantom in the Dutch productino of Phantom of the Opera (he is Andrew Lloyd Webber's favorite phantom). the other singers come from other genres as pop, rock, salsa/reggaeton, and folk. Of all of them, only Tim Akkerman (the rock musician) has heard of Floor, but hasn't really seen her perform, and none of the others had heard of her until this season. In fact, Floor was unknown to her entire country. So not was this your reaction to her, but your reaction to the other singers' reaction to her, as well as the entire country.

The funny part here is that Floor was the first to perform for the entire season, and Henk had jokingly quipped that he thought it would be great to see if anyone would take on signing an opera aria for him. This is what he got.

Hi, thank you for your reaction! Let me just say that I don't know anything about voice control, technique, etc... I enjoy opera, I enjoy rock, metal, pop, all of it if done well. I've heard some outstanding voices in my life, in all genres. But with Floor... whatever song or genre she sings, for me she hits the ears and brain and then goes deeper to the heart and soul... I really keep asking myself how that is possible, someone should study that. Are, for example, Cecilia Bartoli and, God forbid, Maria Callas, "better" vocalists? Im sure they are! And they can bring me to tears just with their extraordinary capabilities! But Floor...I don't know...whatever she sings, she moves me more than any other; she gets under my skin and triggers emotions I didn't even know I had... I heard her do covers of songs that I adored for ages. ..and make them hit me way harder than ever before! Did she sing it technically better? Probably not...did it bring out more emotions, did I love it even more? Hell yeah!! At least for me; she's unique, and I'm so glad and thankful that I found someone who can do that to my soul... I realize maybe I don't make any sense here, but that's just it; it doesn't make any sense too me either! It just is. And I love it!

Nice reaction !! I really enjoy talented singers like yourself reacting to stuff like this (artists bringing different texture to presumptuous minds like mine) .
next on your list with Floor could/should be :
Floor with Epica 2 songs 1st being "Sancta Terra" and second "Stabat Mater Delarosa" In my opinion in that particular order for full effect.

I've seen a few of your reactions, and they're very good. I figured you would enjoy this performance from Floor in particular. She definitely has that clarity in her tone that you mentioned, but also the clarity of her pronunciation just kills me every time. I think what impresses me the most though, is that even on those high notes, it never sounds shrill. She seems to be very conscious of maintaining a balanced warmth in her sound.
