I also think it's worth remembering that the void in men that creates this behaviour is the exact same void that leads women to fall for it. I really don’t understand why there’s so much contention in these comments, it’s pretty well known that a lot of dudes will pretend they want to date you so that they can have sex with you and ghost you, like this isn’t new information. This is exactly how my ex-wife (woman) behaved until we got married. So no - it's not just men. It's more like a general psychological thing attributed to narcissists and psychopaths. When they reach a goal, they relax and then you're in for some trouble.

this is very simple. I told my girlfriend's daughter that most men are relational chameleons. When you run across a guy you really like, never tell him the things you like. Ask him what HE likes first. Ask him what the most exciting thing he did... (any time frame before you). Pay attention how he speaks of his parents, siblings, ex-girlfriends, but do not talk about what you like until he has spilled his guts. That way you keep him from pretending to like what you do and you getting hurt.
