Bomb explodes outside Greek railway offices in Athens

Authorities have launched an investigation following a bomb blast in Athens.

The offices of Hellenic Train, a freight and passenger train company, were evacuated after a suspicious bag was spotted outside the building.

Two Greek media organisations received a tip-off about a potential explosion roughly 30 minutes before the blast.

There are no immediate reports of any injuries.

The explosion was likely caused by a makeshift bomb, though no one has yet claimed responsibility.
