🔍 Does Helion's FUSION REACTOR Really Work?
In this episode of the CrossroadsCommentary podcast, we dive into the exciting yet controversial world of fusion energy, with a special focus on Helion Energy. They claim to deliver commercial fusion power by 2028—years ahead of other massive government projects. But can they actually pull it off?

🎙️ What we discuss:

Helion's ambitious plans to provide Microsoft with a 50 MW fusion generator by 2028.
The science behind Helion’s unique approach, including their use of a "dumbbell-shaped" reactor.
Concerns raised by popular YouTubers like Real Engineering and Improbable Matter.
Key issues such as fuel reactivity, neutron production, and shielding safety.
Is Helion's "Direct Energy Capture" system really more efficient than traditional steam turbines?
Expert opinions from nuclear engineer T-Folse, and why skepticism persists in the scientific community.
⚡ Fusion energy promises limitless, clean power with no greenhouse gases or long-lived radioactive waste. But can Helion overcome the massive engineering and safety challenges involved?

👉 Watch to find out if Helion’s bold claims can revolutionize the energy sector—or if they’re just another flash in the pan.

💬 What do you think? Is Helion Energy the future of clean energy, or is this another risky bet? Let us know in the comments!

"Direct capture" was sort of used in the 1970s (1977, ) where the Americans and Russian scientists were using/studying something called "magneto-hydrodynamics" device, which was powered by coal!

Hope Helion succeeds against all odd!

After re-reading this post I have altered it on Feb 26th to more clearly state what everyone is missing about Helion and make some minor corrections.

While Helion's D+H3 fusion will not completely remove D+D reactions thus eliminating those pesky neutrons it will create circumstance that limit them considerably. However what everyone is missing is that this is not the ultimate goal. The Ultimate goal is H3+H3 fusion which will have Zero Neutrons and only produce Protons and Alpha waves both having a positive charge and therefore containable.

The other thing you have gotten wrong is the direct energy capture. They are not extracting energy from the plasma. When the fusion happens the exploding proton and Alpha Waves push against the magnetic field making it expand the expanding magnetic field passes over copper coils. This is how al electricity is made by passing a magnetic field over copper coils.

This is the way of the future every other method of making electricity uses the same method we have been using for 200 years. Heat creates steam to do work. This means you need massive Power Plants water turbines etc etc. These are all basically a variation of a kettle whistle. Try using the kettle whistle method to make electricity in space. Direct energy capture is the way of the future everything else is just another kettle whistle.
