The INGLENOOK CLASSIC car meet, Inglenook Farm

My first visit to The Inglenook Classic car meet (formerly "Inglenook Classics") is today's video here on the Old Classic Car channel.
Inglenook Farm itself, home to this regular meeting, is situated in Rainford between St Helens and Ormskirk on the A570, so away from my usual patch. As a result, I was hoping to see plenty of cars that I'd not encountered before, and that is what happened.
I understand that "The Inglenook Classic" is a regular car meet held throughout the warmer months of the year, so keep an eye on their Facebook page for future dates.
The turnout was, I'm told, one of the best ever, which was lucky for me. Highlights at the show included the immaculate Volvo and Humber duo shown in the thumbnail, VW Thing, Ford Consul Classic, Chrysler/Hillman Avenger, FIAT Giardiniera, Austin-Morris JU250 minibus, Wolseley 6/80 Police car, bullnose Morris Cowley, and a BMW 635CSi to name just a few.
If you displayed at this Inglenook Classic meet, please say hello in the comments.
This is a gathering that I'll definitely try and get to again in future.
If you're new to the channel, please have a look around and consider subscribing (don't forget the notifications bell too!) to catch future classic car videos.
If you know of anyone else who might find these Old Classic Car videos of interest, please forward one of the above links to them.

I worked for a company in the sixties who manufactured Pyrene foam drums amongst other things. The Government specification was very rigid, and included the seam welding of the sides and bottoms of 16 guage high quality rolled steel sheets. This was performed by a slight elderley lady who had been doing this job for over 40 years which was no mean feat. The welded drum weighed over 12 lbs, and she managed to produce ten of these per hour! There was no other younger welders who could achieve this. Violet was a lovely lady who was a widow, and lived alone in Millwall (a very tough part of London). As a trainee I was in awe of her and she always gave me a sweet each day!

Richard; from The Inglenook Classic organising team, thank you so much for attending our event and producing such a fantastic video which really captured the ethos and atmosphere that we strive for. 🙏

Our 2025 Season will have a change of criteria in that all exhibiting vehicles will need to be a minimum of 20 years old (up to and including 2005). This has been an operational decision to protect the future of the event as well as responding to feedback to host a “true” classic car meet in the area; we hope we can achieve this.👍

Thanks again and hope to see you next year! 😎

The 53 Chevy pickup at about 1:24:00 reminded me of a story... We toured an amazing Frank Lloyd Wright house in Oregon (the Gordon House), and the docent told us that the owner told Mr. Wright if he wanted to make the built-in furniture, it must be as comfy as his 53 Chevy pickup ( he had probably heard Wright's reputation for beautiful, but torturous furniture). Mr. Wright actually sent someone to measure the seat in the truck to make sure it was right. And I sat in front of the fire on that couch. I gotta say, it was comfy, and it felt like MY 53 Chevy felt. LOL

Absolutely fantastic video of some really beautiful car's. The Humber Hawk is a winner in my book having owned a Super Snipe, which i had a Rover 3.5 installed. I had D LLF 767 for 23 beautiful years before she was stolen. It was a lovely car to drive, not many around, & the sweet sound of the V8 was magical. The Hawk look's fantastic & is great condition. Great video, keep up the good work 👍

Richard thanks for yet another wonderful video. The Austin A30s brings back yet another memory. A school friend of mine had a slightly tuned four door one inwhich we went to his previous school reunion in Tynemouth. On the way back after much drinking I fell victim to a. malfunctioning rear door lick and fell out the door straight into a trench in some road works. My friend carried on taking to me for some minutes until he realised that he was alone. He then reversed back and hauled me out of the trench and we carried on home. I bet the grey example is a real sleeper with that Honda superbike engine.

You really captured the ethos of the event I started at the end of the lockdowns and now run by a great team.

Hi Richard. I love my part of the world and had a walk in Dawlish this morning . Looking out to sea the aircraft carrier HMS Queen Elizabeth was doing extensive sea trials ... but we simply don't get these type of shows . Thanks Richard

Another great video, nice to see a Ford sierra 2.0i S, my dad bought a two year old one in 1988 and had it for many years, I was lucky that he insured me on it and me being 18 years old, it was like a rocket ship compared to my 1.6 capri.

Always interesting to hear other peoples views on the cars. Fantastic turn out for the season finale. Most will be tucked up for the winter now, cosseted under a blanket. Still hopeful to get out in my Ghia if the roads are dry. Thanks for the great video! ATB👍

Thanks Rick, you are a font of knowledge. I was very interested in what you had say about the early production A30 v the later ones. You are never to old to stop learning.

I like the look of the MGB without bumper over riders.

Hi Richard. I loved the old stockcar. Here in NZ the Fiat Topolino body shell was used for the cars in the 1960s/ early 70s.

The humber hawk is such a nice car with the v8 manual mod .i think the wheels suite it in a 55 chevy sort of way.
