Low gain, high volume sounds so good with your base tone. Not to mention your playing style, well done man.

Correction, Gain controls volume output and volume controls amount of input gain. They're mislabeled and it exposes how many of these cheap pedals are the same board in different housings, because there are three or four other make/model that have the same control layout, down to the mislabeled gain knob.

Its a killer pedal for the $15 I paid. Tone stack kinda sucks. For a gain effect, I often use a Kmise/Saphue Vintage Overdrive, into a Crunch, into a ⁷ 7 band eq and can get just about any sound I want. Its obviously meant to emulate a MI CrrunchBox, but its almost certainly a modded RAT circuit.

Update: After more research and study of the circuit, Ive learned that this is a Joyo Pocket Metal. Joyo has Crunch Distortion that is a CrunchBox clone, but this is marked 'Pocket Metal' on the board. The gain circuit does look like a RAT circuit, with a LM4558 opamp, substituted for the RAT's LM308. It has a second LM4558, that I believe is an active tone control, similar to that in a Marshall Shredmaster. Which would explain why it sounds like an extra high-gain RAT. Still a monster of a distortion, for under $25.

Just another important correction. Tone controls mid range, not brightness. Thank you for your excelent channel :)

Kinda bleeds right over into fuzz territory. Noice.

Great video but I have a question, so I connected it to the amp and guitar how you regularly would now my dc9v isn't anywhere to be found so when I clicked the pedal all of the sudden distortion and gain went through the amp as if it was powered on. But it was completely off
