How to Replace Xiaomi Mijia Rear Tube and Tire

After struggling with this as many others have, feeling closer to humanity as a whole after all the tears, sweat and pain put into this...I have a solution, the only possible way that myself (with the aid of two other men, who I am now bonded to for life after our shared traumatic experience) is to use cable/zip ties in conjunction with tire levers.

1- Place the tire as far on as it will go by hand
2- Take a section of the tire and place it so that it is inside the wheel frame then use the zip tie between the tire and the frame to "shrink" that section of the tire.
Note: The zip tie must be secured as tight as possible.
3- Do this in as many places as is possible, I think on our attempt we needed 5 or so ties.
4- Use bike hooks/tire hooks/screwdriver/spoons to push the tire into place, the cable ties should allow you enough give.
Note: This step is still not an easy process and will mortally wound you.
5- Seek therapy and or alcoholism to recover.

At one point it seemed impossible to do it, but thanks for the olive oil tip, this really saved my day! After applying some it was much easier...

do this! Boil the tire for 10 mins. Especially if its new! (Not the innertube) lube everything with some oil. For the hard part getting it on! I use zipties to hold the parts that are on on both sides! Like 4-6 zipties. And 2 spoons i get it on in 2 minutes this way! If You have a vise You can do this very easy just pinch tire with the vise and zip tie and move position pinch ziptie last part use a spoon!

Easy to replace inner tube, i did mine today, TIP!, use Vaseline around the Tyre rim !...and use the handle end of a fork to remove or seat the Tyre, it is smooth and offers better leverage.

Getting the tire off is the easy bit well done for making it look hard. I want to see it go back on

To put the tire back on the rim, try using a pair of small workbench clamps. They will act as extra hands and provide better consistent force to help put the tire back on, than tire levers

Hello! I just received mine in the mail and I'm confused. Am I supposed to use the harder tires already on the scooter? Or am I supposed to install the softer ones that came as supplements? It doesn't explain who should use what!

After taking a (first !) longer ride with this electric scooter I managed to puncture the back tyre (inner tube) like 2 times. 😒😞

I patched the 2 holes successfully though.

Getting the outer rubber coat (tyre) off the wheel was hard enough but putting everything back together was something else. 😥😠

I had to use quite an amount of vaseline to lubricate the right sections of the wheel & tyre. A blowdryer/hairdryer was needed too (to soften the tyre a bit). 😕🤕

Good thing I removed the brake disc before assembling the tyre, inner tube & wheel back together. Because you can fairly easily deform it. So that would be my advice too. 🙄
