Not the most complex routine out there but perhaps the most watchable. Total package with the choreography, outfits and difficulty. Great synchronization among the girls. Well done. Now if the crowd could just learn to clap on beat... 🤔

What is so strange about this, is that I’ve seen these exact gymnasts in exactly those leotards in the most heartbreaking situations, when they failed an element, when they cried together, when they tried these leos late at night at podium training just hours before they would go on the carpet the next day... all those moments where you feel that life is brutally honest, painful, and that these gymnasts are suffering to the bone every moment to achieve the perfection of their elements. And still, there you see them here, at the Olympics, among all that wealth, and happiness, and sunshine, and the crowd that is pleased by this performance... those five gymnasts, their leotards, everything they have they gave. And still, none of it can be seen. They are one title of a random Olympics video, 3.5 minutes in the lives of the public, seen once in history. The three years between the Olympics? Forgotten. The gymnasts who were part of the group and then got injured and had to leave between those Olympics? Forgotten. All Olympics are talking about are those gymnasts, and just for a few moments. All those tears that those leotards, clubs are, they are so banal in the world of International Sport. These gymnasts were there, they will already be forgotten as soon as someone else does something. Their tears, blood, sweat? They don’t exist, this is the polished Olympic world, for wealthy western public. And still, the leos that soaked these tears, this blood, this sweat up? They wear them. Idk, somehow this makes me sad.
