Wuthering Waves Chinese Server Rollback Incident Sparks Major Controversy Among Chinese Players

On July 5th, a hardware issue caused a server rollback on Wuthering Waves, affecting 3,000 players and making someone's Jinhsi disappear. Luckily, they fixed it quickly, offering 200 Astrites as compensation and restoring lost characters for free. Interestingly, someone tried to exploit the situation by spreading misinformation.

Rollback refers to the process of reverting a game server's state to a previous point in time. This is typically done to undo unintended changes or errors that have occurred in the game world or player data.

"Because he hid the truth, there was a server hardware issue at the time, his 10 pulls got lost due to server issue. Later, the game compensated him with 10 pulls, but the history of those pulls was still counted in his record. So, he had actually only pulled around 60 times and hadn't reached the guaranteed pity rate. Due to the rollback, an extra 10 pulls were recorded in the pull log but they got compensated. Then, he made this video without mentioning the compensation he received, encouraging people to complain to the game's official support. Fun fact, the exact same drama also happened once in PGR. Back then, Kuro informed that they will take legal action against the perpetrator, but decided to drop the case as the guy threatened to "unalive" himself.

The thing is...rollbacks arent that bad UNLESS things are gone forever. Kuro gave back whatever was lost and gave extra compensation. But it just takes one person with misinformation and bad intentions to rally a community.

Fun stuff, those who didn’t lose anything from the rollback got their astrite / pulls back if they used any during the time period, and an additional 200 astrite … those affect also got their lost 5* for free . The players (affected or not) benefited the most out of this .
