'House Of Fun' was released as a one-off single in 1982 and went to #1 in the UK, staying in the chart for nine weeks. The song is arguably the best example of
Madness' "nutty sound", a combination of fairground vaudeville, ska and out-and-out pop. Filmed on location in North London, it finds our boys acting out their coming-of-age tale in true Madness style.

The one thing about their videos they seem to have fun doing them. Never taking themselves seriously except the music witch was great. Shame they never made bigger in the states.

this is why i love the older music. it was just as "dirty" as modern music, but so cleverly and masterfully hidden behind innuendos and interesting word play that you could listen to a song a hundred times without realizing what it was really about. and then when you finally realize what the whole songs about, you cant see how you missed it all along. class A act gentlemen! :D

i was there when they made the video for house of fun on the pleasure beach in great yarmouth its bang opposite our school and me and my mates bunked off to watch the band make the video ! ! ! ! ! we got to meet suggs and the rest of the band what a day that was ! ! ! !
