As a soon-to-be geologist student at Uni, I am seriously hoping to do some work one day in Antarctica like Jim Rice has done as shown in some of the pictures.

Is it just me or do "Doctors" have an inferiority complex? I don't go around introducing myself to people by saying "Hi, My name is Mr John Doe". I just go, "Hi, my name is John Doe"

But if you're a doctor suddenly your title jumps in there, "Hi, My name is doctor John Doe". Is it mandatory for them to change their first names to "doctor" when they graduate??

@AcidRaZor You don't have to do anything to obtain the title "Mr.", whereas to obtain the title "Dr." you must achieve it. I imagine those that earn the title are proud of the work they put in and are thus proud to use the title often. Also, no one changes their first name to "Doctor" :/
