Does Your Facebook Marketing Annoy People?

Facebook marketing is important for any business and it's even MORE important that you don't annoy people by constantly posting promotional messages for your business...especially if your Facebook "friends" are made up of non-business contacts.

In this video you'll learn my take on Facebook marketing and how not to be annoying.
I also talk about Facebook in general and that if you're going to do Facebook marketing at all, you're much better off having separate pages - one for your business and one for your personal life.

Lastly, I talk about how I use Facebook in my business and the general rules I keep in mind for posts, promotions, etc. to avoid annoying people.

One of the great tools you can use for this too is called payvement, it's a facebook storefront.

If you can afford to, also take out facebook ads, and target people in your local area, who are interested in things like "food" "cooking" "family" etc.

That way, you're reaching local people (that you could consult with) who are going to be the most qualified to want what you have to sell :-)

Make a facebook profile for your business (or a regular website) and add it to your interests on facebook. That way it shows your association and promotes what you do without being obtrusive.

That's what I'm coming to understand and appreciate: not wasting my time and energy on the people who aren't interested or who are annoyed by my content.... Sure, it is uncomfortable and can sting a little when they either unsubscribe or reject me, but in the long run, it's better because they wouldn't be right for me anyway and there are other people out there who are... them leaving or telling me no, frees me up to find the people who DO care.

One of the most annoying things a friend's business has done to me on Facebook was to tag me in their product photos. O Great! Now when my friends or friends-to-be click on "Photos of Ethan", they're gonna see me as some contact lenses. Definitely a big NO to this strategy for me.

You can setup facebook so that you have to approve those posts and tags then it wont default there

same here, barely use my personal FB page anymore. But I do keep my personal profile for personal friends only and if acquaintances (is that how you spell it) friend me on my profile I politely ask them to join me on my page. Most of them understand my reasoning. Those who don't, tough for them :-)
