This is not grunge. This is straight up heavy metal. Love it.

This band will forever walk in the history books as legends of metal. Their old shit slams like no one else.

So bad ass, I was holding lights and setting up dry ice, this is the Art Institute of Seattle shoot. it was filmed at the Backstage in Ballard, 2 in the class before us were the directors, a girl and a dude. About 40 of us showed up to help out. It was mixed down back at school on a 24 track Neotex analog that Steve Miller gave to the school, it was the board he recorded book of dreams on - jet airliner/jungle love. Seattle hadn't hit yet so no one was famous, after the band just stayed and drank beer with us lol.

I love the sense of humor from Alice in Chains. The singer is wearing make-up like a Glam Metal vocalist while the other members look like they are from old school Thrash Metal/Speed Metal band. It's like they're trying to confuse people.

I fucking love the way this is filmed. The quick scene changes, the head banging, hair flying all over the place. It’s perfect and raw and angry and heavy and it’s exactly the energy of this song!! I live for this kind of energy. By far my all time favorite AIC song.

I'm glad that AIC found a frontman who can do the sound justice and are still cranking out quality albums but, damn, nobody can replace Layne.

We Die Young is so underrated it seems, everything about it is just awesome. Im in a rock school band and we are gonna perform a cover of it.

I love how this version is more nastier than studio version I melt 🫠

i’m not usually someone who prefers live versions of songs but this performance is stellar and anyone who was there to see it in person should consider themselves incredibly lucky

I would put Layne up there with the best of them. Truly iconic, one of a kind voice that will never be duplicated. RIP good man

God damn! What a AWESOME vocal! This dude knows exactly how to sing and how to use his voice. Layne was really really good.

I’ve watched this 12 times in a row now. They sound so god damn good. The absolute best

Holy moly Jerry's guitar tone here is fucking delicious! It sounds like a buzzsaw instead of a guitar! 🤘

Layne Staley is probably the ONLY singer who can sound better live than on some of the recordings. Spot on every time!

Truly one of a kind singer who we will probably never see the likes of again! The absolute best!

We didn’t know what we had from 1987-1995 in Seattle at the time. It was special. God I miss it.

I saw Alice In Chains live and me and my friend were 10-12 at the time we got almost to the front row then when they came out and started playing immediately ran backwards away from the speakers. 😂 After a few songs we worked our way back up and got guitar picks from Jerry Cantrell after the show.

This is borderline heavy metal. Shit, these guys could do and play anything they wanted and sell shows and albums. They were so golden back then.
