German Shepherds have had a major downgrade due to selective breeding. They develop hip problems so much earlier and faster and they just generally aren't as acrobatic anymore. They used to be able to jump, like, eight feet high or something insane. This is going off of memory so feel free to research it yourself.

1.) The pugs we have today usually have health issues. They have trouble breathing and their eye can pop out.
2.) German Shepherds have hip problems and they cannot jump that high as before. German shepherds before can jump high.

Breeders: “This dog is too normal… let’s make sure to breed it to the point it has major health issues.”

Pugs have breathing problems now because of the selective breeding

It's about physical appearances inside and out, on the outside they changed just a little bit but on the inside, they also developed severe health problems along the way, very sad for our four legged buddies

Pugs were actually a lot taller stronger and tougher in the past. You wouldn't even recognize them considering they used to be awesome hunting dogs.

But now they're so sad and you won't find a pug that isn't related in some way or another

Uh no. The fact they had a defined “breed” was already the result of selective breeding. The horrible outcome of many breeds now is overbreeding. Real, responsible breeders do NOT breed ill dogs together. They do genetic testing and get multiple certificates verifying everything down to the hips and knees are in good/great condition. People senselessly breeding their two cute doggies together have resulted in this breeder-shaming culture. Breeders aren’t the problem. Hobby and backyard breeders put fucked up dogs in circulation. If you want a purebred, do your research and find a good, real breeder that also competes their dogs in dog shows. If you don’t care what breed you get, go to a shelter or find a rescue and get a cute slobbery mutt. All dogs are great but humans are their worst enemy and best advocate for a better life.

Pugs were already in bad condition, we just made them worse to seem “cuter”.

Dog breeds have always been selectively breed, that's how you get a Pug or German Sheppard. They are not a naturally occurring animal. The problem is when people take it to stupid levels and start to inbreed (or the new term for it "line breeding") and limiting the genetic pool for the visual traits their kennel clubs deem correct for the breed instead of characteristics best for the overall health of the animal. Breeders and the kennel clubs are the problem, not the public in general.
