Spot Wear Repair on Engineered Hardwood Floor

Products used were: Bona Floor Prep spray, Bona Wood Stain and Saman Wood Stain, and the Bona Traffic HD.

It's difficult to get oil based stain to stick in these situations. It typically wipes right off as seen on your first stain application. I use Mohawk lacquer markers because they dry way faster and stick way better. I just did a hundred of these touch-ups on a thousand feet of distressed walnut that was stained. Then I coated it with Bona Mega One. I would probably pass if the whole floor was engineered with aluminum-oxide finish, like this floor.

Change playback speed in settings. You can cut it right down to 25% of normal speed.

Does the factory pre-finish not have to be heavily sanded to let the water based sealer bond? This hardwood looks exactly like mine and I have several spots I need to repair.

I need some advice - installed a beautiful floor - engineered wood - then polyurethane to help prevent scratches. Now its all spotty and i see streaks and circles it looks terrible. Do I buff out the entire floor? Im afraid it'll ruin the finish of the floor. Is there a way to buff out just the poly?

We have sanded down and tried so match so many varnishes to our supposedly engineered wood, to get rid of some bad scratches . And now we have a big patch which looks aweful 😭 any suggestions please.
