I appreciate Eric and Matt, two Catholics with platforms who don’t pretend everything is fine and explain away the issues, but also don’t suggest jumping the ship and going sede.

The perspective of being able to "shut off" the world and that being okay is something I needed to hear. It's what I've been doing since the beginning of 2020 and I feel so much healthier but also feel guilty. I check in with the news once a week now and that's about it.

Great discussion both of you! I really appreciate what you both said! I do listen to a variety of Catholic podcasts to include Dr Taylor Marshall and others like Keith Nester and both of you of course. For me, finding balance in understanding that each of you have unique perspectives and personalities and so I’m selective based on how I’m feeling and what I need at a given time. But I stay grounded in the scriptures and the catechism and realize those won’t be changed and they give me solace and peace. Sometimes I need to listen to Father Isaac Mary Reyla to fire me up, if you haven’t heard him he’s very traditional and on fire for the Lord.

I think the identity thing is right on. For another piece of evidence I believe Ash Wednesday is one of the most well attended Masses!

It's really difficult to hear what Matt Fradd. I need to watch his mouth closely and even then I can just get about 75% of what he says (you're sound is fine). Is he speaking from Poland? That is totally understandable.
