Hi Everyone,
I made some changes to my channel this winter that resulted in YT deleting all of my comments/replies on these videos. It's really a shame, because I feel like I have answered quite a few theory questions in the comments section over the years. If you have a question, even if it looks like it's been asked before, please don't hesitate to post a comment, I'll do my best to get back to you.
Cheers,
JH

Your diagram for beam reach makes it look like the TW is in front of the apparent wind. On a beam reach the apparent wind should be hitting the beam and the true wind is actually from abaft the beam correct? If we trim to apparent wind, then your example of hitting a beam reach using true wind is a bit confusing to me. It would seem that a beam reach is identified by AW hitting the beam, and TW at an angle abaft the beam.
