Speakers:
Tinglong Dai
Professor of Operations Management and Business Analytics
Johns Hopkins University
Christopher S Tang
UCLA Distinguished Professor and Edward W Carter Chair in Business Administration
University of California, Los Angeles
The Covid-19 crisis has been instrumental in highlighting the role of supply chains, particularly in delivering economic, human, and societal value. Meanwhile, the pandemic has accelerated interest among businesses, governments, and academics towards environmental, social, and governance (ESG) considerations. Based on their recent AsiaGlobal Paper, “Unifying ESG and Supply Chain Thinking: An Urgent Call to Action in the Post-Pandemic Era”, Tinglong Dai of Johns Hopkins University and Christopher S Tang of UCLA will examine challenges and opportunities for ESG and supply chain management practitioners and researchers, and, through case studies, illustrate why well-calibrated ESG measures should play a central role in supply chain management practices.
The presentation will be followed by a discussion and Q&A session moderated by Professor Heiwai Tang of the University of Hong Kong.
The AGI Public Policy Webinar Series features leading academics and scholars from universities and think tanks around the world presenting current research on global public-policy issues and discussing their significance and implications for Asia and the world. All are welcome.
