Given that around 1 in 5 MPs, and something like 50% of tory MPs are landlords including the prime minister and most of the cabinet, it isn't really that surprising that they don't want to introduce rules that will result in more costs and responsibilities for landlords.

It is always fascinating to see just what happens in parliament.

The tory line is quite often "political name-calling" whenever a very relevant question is asked. Im not hear to say "labour will fix all our problems". Simply, the tories can. do. better.

Three and a half billion pounds of tax-payers money to pay for work that leaseholders should have paid for from their profits?

Its glad to see people are rallying behind nuclear energy. We need to cut subsidies for all fossil fuels so that there is an equal playing field, which will allow us to transition away from coal, oil and natural gas

(1:50) "We're going to do this anyway so we don't need this" is a line used by someone who actually isn't planning to do what they're saying, as far as I'm concerned.

(3:00) Essentially this sounds to me like: "We're totally going to make buildings safe soon, so there is no need for rules to help those harmed if a tragedy happens - because I say it won't happen."

From the American POV a black box tracking you in a rental is an insane concept to me 😳

[Rules surrounding super car retails] I thought id point this out Lamborghini, Ferrari yes they are supercars 600 and 700 hp respectively but 300+ hp is not a supercar most are beyond 500-600 if a car company came out with a car claiming it to be a supercar but it only had for example 370 hp, they would be Laughed at. but the point behind the argument is valid yes they do need to regulate the industry better.

Clive Lewis' point isn't saying that Green Growth is not possible, but instead focusing more on the growth and less on the green part of the imitative, as see through the allowing of the Cumbria coal mine as well as the other points made by the Labour politician. He is pointing out that the incongruence between the goals of the Conservative government, specifically towards 'Green Growth, ' while making actions that support less environmentally supportive choices. Sharmer instead avoid the questions and ironically tries to defame Clive in his response, saying the aforementioned buzzword of 'green growth' and trying to separate environmental concerns from politics, despite the two being intertwined. Our Internal carbon emissions, for domestic use, as well as accounting for population, have not change at all over the past 30 years, despite these "efforts" by tory government, and seeing how they have been in a majorative of the time, they should be held responsible.

Would it be too cynical to think like Lords Amendment 2 was proposed by Labour, and that's why the Government was against it?
