Gov. Gavin Newsom (D-CA) proposed a $322 billion budget for California on Monday in an attempt to burnish his legacy as his time leading the state draws to a close.

If his budget is approved, it would be the first time in two years California is not expected to have a deficit in its state budget. Newsom attributed the 2025 plan to planning in the last budget that allowed the state to avoid a shortfall this year.

Lifetime Californian can't say one thing that's better now than it was 5, 10 or 20 years ago. We live in a one party system, a failed party just like the USSR and Cambodia, and we know how that ended.
