I remember Jonny Hayes doing the same tackle in France against Rennes and we called it a textbook challenge, I'm a Celtic fan and Cosgrove's challenge was inch perfect

Yeah, good yellow on Ryan. There need to be more calls like that especially on players like Morelos. The red was a bad call, although the referee probably couldn't see the play very well and it looks worse in real-time. Since referees can't see in slow motion... I get it. However, where was the penalty for French Eddy?!?

Speaking as a rangers fan that was a red card. He was off the ground, in full flight. It's a red. If he had made proper contact he could have caused serious injury.

i think Cosgrove is airborne when he wins the ball makes contact with Ajer i think that's why it is a red by the rules of the game because you can't be in control of a challenge if you're literally flying through the air however do i agree with it no not really football has gone to soft in my opinion he went for the ball he got the ball there was some follow through but this is competitive sports these guys shouldn't be wrapped in cotton wool

I’m celtic through and through but cosgroves challenge was fine it was hard but fair fs get up and get on with it simunovic done it to miller and it was fine, hays done it in France so why no cosgrove?

Tbh we were cutting them open at will 11 v 11, when cosgrove got sent aff- it was 10 men behind the ball wouldn’t have made any difference to scoreline

As an Aberdeen fan, was never a red, yes wasn't a very controlled challenge but won the ball and the Celtic player jumped over the challenge. But shows how poor the refereeing is in this country how on earth was that not a penalty in the first half?
