The Cobb Tuning Flex Fuel kit makes it possible to run your VB WRX on either pump gas, E85, or any combination there of. We have been looking forward to this option becoming available because there should be be a big jump in performance when we are able to run E85 in the FA24DIT engine.

In this video, we take a look at what comes in the kit, the install, and then we take the car to the dyno to see what the results are.

We have to give a big Thank You to Harvey at The Boostcreep for helping us collect all this data.

If you are interested in this kit, it is available on the Flatirons Tuning Website here:

Thanks for watching and Stay Tuned!

In this episode:

00:00 - Intro
00:26 - What is in the Cobb Flex Fuel Kit?
02:42 - Installing the Flex Fuel Kit
04:38 - Getting our 24 WRX on the dyno to see Flex Fuel results
08:14 - Comparison of different fuels and different maps

Great episode! I like that you guys are taking a different approach to this project. Most content I find has the ETS FMIC. But I wonder how the COBB FMIC will fair? And how far would you get before having to upgrade the down pipe and fuel system? Thanks for the amazing content, you guys rock!

LOVIN' this update on the 2024 and the info on E85! I've always received inconsistent information on the extended use of E85 on this platform so any and all advice on this would be greatly appreciated. Keep up the good work, amigos.

What does a Stock VA STi make on the dyno? That 91 tune seems so close

I recognize that guy, and that dyno! Must be nice to have a press pass to be able to be in the garage door when he’s doing pulls 😂

How far do you and the tuners recommend is the minimum distance/drive time per trip to make sure the ethanol sludge does not form or build up and affect your engine? My trips to the market are very short only 5 minute drive, and my drive to work is between 15 to 20 minutes.

Honestly, thank you for the information, and i watch all your posts, 🙏.
However, until cobb becomes AI it’s hard to conceive of it doing the job of a mapper

I’m not a huge fan of cobb, being a normal person due to lack of tuning capabilities and being locked from tuning Esspecislly now. Hp tuners works well on the new subis. to bad they don’t have any Tactrix stuff for the 16+ stuff. If you have access to tuner pro then Cobb can be an awesome tool. But if your like me and tune primarily with Tactrix open source or hp tuners, it’s the way for us low budget folks. But since Harvey is your tuner for you guys then the Cobb will work great. Cuz I know Harvey is having his way with it.. and the tune will be custom to the car… now just needs a big ol turbo now.

Interesting! Wonder why you guys made so much less power than Cobb did on their mustang dyno. Must be altitude related, no?
