Hot Ice (Sodium Acetate Trihydrate)

Bought some sodium acetate (30g) from a chemistry supplier and decided to take a stab at hydrating it so I could get the 'hot ice' effect. Worked out well. I just added enough water to get it all dissolved and then heated it until I saw a thin crystal layer forming in the beaker. I then cooled it and dropped a crystal in and whammo, hot ice. Kids love this one. :)
