Launch of Jeff Bezos' Blue Origin rocket postponed | BBC News

The launch of Jeff Bezos' Blue Origin rocket has been postponed due to a “vehicle subsystem issue”.

The reusable rocket had been due to set off from Florida, but was delayed multiple times.

Bezos has plans for his company to become a rival to Elon Musk's SpaceX and the rocket, New Glenn, is named after John Glenn, the first American to orbit Earth.

With New Glenn, Blue Origin is trying to do what SpaceX's Falcon has done hundreds of times, reuse a first stage.

This rocket is less powerful than Falcon Heavy, which also reusable and has perfect success record so far. When compare New Glen to Space X Starship - the Starship upper stage alone carries more fuel than the entire New Glenn! Starship produces 7 times more thrust and can put more than twice the payload in orbit in a single mission.
