Kratos became a more stable man and a better father figure to his kid. Don't get me wrong, he loves his previous family but his glory seeking soul didn't stop. He became the leader of Sparta at such a young age. Sold himself to Ares in exchange for victory. Killing the innocent and the not-so innocent in the name of the god of war himself until that fateful day where Ares brought his wife and child into the temple where Kratos is having his rampage. Engulfed with rage, he served the olympian gods for 10 years, killed Ares but the gods didn't keep their end of the bargain. Kratos is blinded by rage that he killed his own father Zeus. Now after a few years, Kratos knew that revenge was never the answer. Now he lives peacefully with Atreus and now he is teaching the boy not to follow his own footsteps. Kudos to you, Kratos

This version of the song is much better than the final official version. Especially the female voice at the 2:27 point, is a great part of this, and is for some reason removed in the official version.

at 2:23 I picture a completely destroyed Asgard in flames, Odin bloody and beaten lying on the ground with a look of complete fear on his face. The camera changes to Odin's point of view as he sees Kratos covered in blood wielding his magic axe slowly walking towards him, his face full of the rage that once consumed him with Kratos menacingly saying "Give....me....my...son"

This song is sung in Icelandic/Ancient Norwegian, I'm trying my best to write down the lyrics but it's kind of muddled because of the instrumentals being so loud compared to the sung chorus.
