SCP-1966 - Sentient Body Scanner

Dr Bob brings you SCP Foundation CLASS Class object, SCP-1966 - Sentient Body Scanner Animation.

SCP-1966 is a backscatter X-Ray device. It was purchased by the American Transportation Security Administration for use in an International Airport. It is approximately 3m x 4m x 4m. Passive scans reveal no deviations between the internal structure of SCP 1966 and other body scanners using the same design.

Shortly after being placed in service, SCP1966 has been emitting the sound of a male human voice. The voice emanates from resonant vibrations in the [REDACTED], and no cause for these vibrations has yet been determined. The voice will respond to speech and other sounds in the vicinity of SCP-1966, and is apparently representative of a sentient consciousness resident within SCP-1966. SCP-1966 will vocalize regardless of any connection to a power source.

SCP-1966 claims to be an insurance salesman from London, Ontario. SCP-1966 claims its last memory before “going blind and unconscious” was his daughter’s fifth birthday party, 24 hours prior to SCP-1966’s first vocalization. SCP-1966 claims to currently have no sensory feedback other than hearing, pain, and a sense of vibrations. (It has shown some awareness of when it has been moved, and when attempts have been made to open the outer casing.)

Use the Claw SCP to put that guy's soul into a robotic/human body. The issue stands in the identity story that shows how things were made by the group that experimented with imprinted memories on an AI or/and even human(even both then they switched lives) that they thrown away strangely due to being concerned about the experiment's results.

Now this is something I didn't expect would have a sentient mind. Then again anything can possibly be anomalous.

The origin of it kinda reminds me of SCP-1192 Timmy. Where it's mind and personality have the same possible imprint as the same person its based on.

This SCP is why most of the early SCP's are the best. No long winded, overly drawn out gigantic blocks of text. Not a reality destroying god being or some outlandish end of the world scenario. No sense of 'I wrote this to be totally more scary and overpowered' than the other guy's keter level universe ending threat.

Just an oddity. A tragic oddity at that. Something to sit and ponder and think about. Something to try and figure out what it is and how it came to be.
