Ryan Bingham (aka “Walker” on Yellowstone) gives an intimate performance of “A Song For The Stone” from the series Yellowstone. New episodes of Yellowstone air on Sunday at 8/9c, only on Paramount Network.

Follow Ryan Bingham:

Lyrics:
Up before the sun, before the wind cuts cold
Cowboys packing heat, pushing cattle up and down the Yellowstone
It’s a choice you make, live and die alone
Ride high and shoot low from the saddle when you ride for the Yellowstone

I can promise you there’s a special place,
Deep in the mountain of a lonesome road.
It never gives more than it takes,
There’s always a train at the station on the Yellowstone

Keep your next of kin, your bloodlines were told
you’re better off getting crossed with the devil than crossed with the Yellowstone
Come to take this land or poison the soul,
you can bet you’re gonna meet your maker in the belly of the Yellowstone,
in the belly of the Yellowstone

I can promise you there’s a special place,
Deep in the mountain of a lonesome road
It never gives more than it takes,
There’s always a train at the station on the Yellowstone

Cowboys were here and now there all but gone,
nothing left but an airport sleeping on the graves of Indian bones,
on the graves of Indian bones.

I can promise you there’s a special place,
Deep in the mountain of a lonesome road
It never gives more than it takes,
There’s always a train at the station on the Yellowstone

I've always been a metal guy, a classical music guy and I've played both electric guitar and lute semi-professionally. Lately I've discovered country music and what I like best is the singer and his guitar, as minimal as possible. I don't like over-produced stuff so much. I watched the first three seasons of Yellowstone and looked up who you were and if you were a professional artist, only to discover that I have several of your songs in my selection of favorites. This video of yours in particular takes me back to some point in my childhood, far away from the city, where I was happy and didn't even realize it. Thank you.

My son loved your music and he hooked me up to listening as well. He has since left this earth, but I continue to listen because it makes me feel closer to him. He would sing and play and he modeled himself after you Ryan. Thank you for keeping it real.

Absolutely amazing! It's sad to think about all the land out west that the cowboys rode that are now silent to time. Places where the Indians used to dance that are now covered in pavement and concrete. And all the ranches that stood that are now just nothing but a nail in the ground. The cattle and bison of yesterday now belong to the pages of a history book and the memories on the wind and in the dust.

Yellowstone kinda took you back to that time period the wail of an iron horse in the night sky, the pounding of hoofs in the vibrations in the ground and the songs and sounds of the cowboys on the air floating up to the heavens. The West is still alive to an extent in places but the ways and the days of the old west have faded into time and the history books. Ryan you are an amazing singer. Keep up the great work on these amazing songs and stories that you tell through your music.

Now this is more like it! The last album just didn't feel like a Ryan Bingham album but this song and songwriting has more of a classic Ryan Bingham feel.👏

Ryan is one of my favorite artists of all time. He really captures the Americana spirit but also his lyrics have always been relatable to me. Yellowstone is a good show, I haven't got far into it but I do love it. I feel like his music transports you to another time but also the kind of music you get lost to.

I'm very fond of metal and rock, but I learned to like country thanks to the Yellowstone series (ok.. I confess that I already liked it a little due to the influence of some songs by Kid Rock, Nickelback and Bon Jovi).
And I just realized that these last few months the singer I've been listening to the most is Ryan.
Very deep and sentimental songs, I visualize the whole story in my mind and travel through the lyrics.
Congratulations from Brazil !

PS: I would love to see a partnership with Luke Grimes
