During the test phase, both the Booster and the Ship have continued to evolve. The Ship will move to nine engines, while the Booster will soon sport 33 engines – the maximum number of engines based on the vehicle’s diameter. The engine itself is evolving, with Raptor 2 now deep into testing at SpaceX’s McGregor test site.

Raptor 1 already sported 185t of thrust. However, with Raptor 2, that increases to 230t. Raptor 2 is also “greatly simplified while increasing thrust. Half the cost at more thrust,” Musk added. The current peak thrust R2 operated at is 247 tons, so SpaceX is confident 250t will be achieved, which is “obviously essential to making SS work.”

The visual changes between Raptor v1 and v2 are apparent, with less cabling and plumbing around the engine. While it’s easily visible around the entire engine, the turbopump appears to have been shrunk in size, and the plumbing has been consolidated. Raptor 2 SN5 appears to be a Raptor Boost engine, which means it lacks the ability to gimbal or steer and cannot throttle as low as Raptor Center engines.

These rocket designs are almost phenomenal

Here are some tips to improve your presentation:
1. Don't just read long quotes, show them on the screen with quotation marks, and attribution. Also show a photo of the person you are quoting.
2. Don't just read numbers, show them in a bullet chart or table, especially when comparing things like Raptor V1 to V2.
3. If you're going to use that text-to-speech app, pay more attention to what it is saying. For example, it doesn't know that "t" stands for "tons", so it just says "tee".

Seriously, I was studying the designs while drawing. What does "work fluid" consist of?

Got to say getting rid of all too small pipes is a good idea let's hope 2.0 work you rock spacex

Wth, my phone keeps switching to 🛌time mode and I do not have it set at these odd schedules...and no one has messed with my actual device! What's up with this?!

With SpaceX ramping up the build at KSC, will we see a build site for the Raptors there as well? Very informative video. Thank yoU!

It keeps doing it when I think I fixed it!

What’s an engine „shroud“ that space x desperately wants to remove from the engine?

Most of the chat believe Raptor 2 will not work on a Raptor 1 or 1.5 puck. Other that thrust output is there definitive evidence of difference in mounting or plumbing to prevent interchangeability ?

C Flange Bracket for flanges allow for takedown and not subjected to leaks. Chamber heat? Try frozen CO2.

A true spaceship that stays in space with nuclear propulsion that travels to Mars on a continuous loop and use Starship as its lander.. Capable of carrying 100 to 500 people. Also another design with artificial gravity.

Going back to the 50s the research in nuclear power rocket going back to the 50s they still hope and spacex is the future
