Have you ever considered taking about Lego games on lesser hardware like PSP or DS?.
It was a big part of my childhood not having a big console and they were quite different so it would be an interesting thing to see.

I remember getting Lego movie 2 and being so disappointed I expected so much more, it had amazing characters to choose from it had a decent but not bad story to adapt the bosses are easy and underwhelming and most of all the open world awfull

Lego Lotr and Lego Batman 2 had my favorite open worlds ever. Just how you could walk to Mordor with no loading screens and exit the batcave in the batmobile going to fight the open world bosses is so cool

Yea, I agree that this wasn’t the best lego game. Back when I heard about it I was planning to get it, until I saw the gameplay. The fact that most of the story doesn’t even match what happens in the movie just infuriated me. And a lot of its mechanics reminded me a lot of lego worlds, which I really didn’t like.

I used to play a ton of LEGO Worlds and seeing this gameplay makes me realize that a ton of content was taken from that game. Yes, even the saxophhone.

My problem with TLM2 game is how tedious and slow the game is, the items usually just being carbon copies of eachother or the items you get in the campaign, and lack of variety

And the fact that 1 red item just makes combat easy

When I started with LEGO Star Wars II on the PSP, it was just the PS2 port. When I got LEGO Indy 2, it was the DS port. Nothing against peeps who had the DS versions growing up, but that felt like a downgrade for me.

0:04 Childhood? I’m an adult and still play them! When I need a light game to make me laugh and have some good old fashioned fun, stick with a good old Lego game.

In my opinion, with how much changed from every single other Lego game, I don’t count this as a Lego game, it may be a game about legos, but not a Lego game

Got kinda of an idea. But it would be a good idea to rank the franchises of each Lego game. So you could have rank how good the indiana Jones games together and the dc and the marvel ones if that makes sense

I think the thing with Lego Movie 2 game is that they forego the traditional gameplay to go for something closer to Lego Worlds. The problem there is that they remove the world creation and don't really put anything interesting in its place, and instead you're just kinda going through the same quests and finding cosmic bricks with no real goal aside from "complete the level and see what happens next", which I feel the Lego Movie 2, well, movie does a better job of telling that story rather than how the game tells it.

It's a shame, too. I had the most fun just exploring the worlds and seeing all the characters they put in and if they had focused more on exploration and less doing boring quests over and over it could've been a fun game.

Those piles of lego bricks that is probably the best way they could have done it without frying your system. Lego bricks are deceptively resource intensive. Lego Worlds does a lot of trickery to get it done but I suspect the trickery doesn't work when you have to place them haphazardly in a pile. They could have hidden it better by putting a few real bricks on the top or straight up not putting the piles there at all but they are not wrong to use an image over the geometry.
