Hong Kong can do with President Xi's visit. That will prove beyond doubt that the Central Government has Hong Kong citizens at heart and cares about them. Hong Kong people have been under the British influence for too long. It took time to get used to after suddenly found themselves back to the motherland on 1 Jul 1997.

The external powers had been hard at work for decades to promote colour revolution and regime change in Hong Kong to divide Hong Kong from China. The foreign-coordinated and funded riots attacked the Hong Kong city and government for over a year in 2019. The foreign powers were waiting to criticise and condemn China's move to intervene because at one time PLA was mobilised near the Chinese border. The US was most likely had rounds of sanctions ready for China as it did to the Russia intervention in Ukraine.

What followed was truly stunning. President Xi simply had the national security law passed by the People's Congress and threw the book to the Hong Kong government who heretofore was powerless due to the externally-influenced members of the legislative council failed to enact the security law for 24 years even though it is always part of the Hong Kong basic law used to govern the one-country two systems. Thus President Xi didn't fire a bullet or send a soldier to Hong Kong and the riots in Hong Kong was terminated by the Hong Kong's own police simply because any act coerced with foreign agents to destabilise Hong Kong is illegal. All the trouble makers were arrested, tried and jailed. Some escaped early by fleeing overseas. Some leaders of the trouble makers had photographed with some American politicians and Congress spokesperson. This conclusively proved the riots were funded, trained, motivated, coordinated and controlled by the US. The US spent billions and decades to do the regime change in Hong Kong. President Xi completely dismantled it just by asking the China's people Congress to put a stamp on the security law, no more and no less. As People's Congress is the highest political power in China and responsible for Hong Kong administration so it is legal and proper to enact a security law. All the implementation work was done by the people of Hong Kong and China wasn't even involved other than sending an designated official to overseer the execution of the security law that every sovereign country already has.

The US and the west do not understand China, mostly because they don't bother to learn Chinese, so they are no match for the wisdom of the Chinese government.
