In this third lecture, I describe electronegativity and Pauling's values of each element in the periodic table. These values may be used to determine the type of bond that would be formed when two atoms combine in a chemical bond, either ionic, polar covalent or nonpolar covalent. The dipole moment of the bonds in a molecule combined with the shape of the molecule can be used to determine the polarity of the molecule.
