I lived in Oahu for about 5 years & experienced the shadow people one time. Three of them while I lay sick in bed. I remember laying down and about 10-15 minutes later, they sort of materialized from other shadows in the room. They looked at me and walked forward closer and closer in the room as if they believed I was asleep, they inched forward as if they were doubtful of whether or not I was awake. When I could see they were literally standing over me, I felt fear but held my composure & I said in a normal tone...You do know I can see you... and no BS they got startled and dissipated..it was like they were surprised I could see them and that scared them too..whatever they were...it was so surreal. I told my neighbor the next morning, she was an older Hawaiian lady said. She said that those were "Tupuqa". She also said that only special people can see them..weird...

I've had this happen twice since I moved into my home that was built in 1830's behind my home is a old civil war era jail. First time it happened I was upstairs on my computer & thought I heard my basement door sliding on floor as it rubs when opened it was ridiculously loud. I got to bottom of stairs seen what looked like a person standing just off to the side of doorway out of view because of shadow being cast on floor. where oven range light is in kitchen and it shines towards the doorway said hello and that I see them, thinking my wife or oldest was getting a snack or a drink. Right when I said it, the shadow moved & disappeared out of light like it was trying to hide. Thinking someone broke in I ran upstairs woke my misses up had her get her phone ready to call 911 grabbed my shotgun and we checked the house cause we have two kids there was nothing there. Second time it happened more blatantly just outside my home. At 2 or 3 AM to loud banging it woke me up off the couch where I fell asleep watching TV thinking my daughter who's bedroom was above where I fell asleep was messing around upstairs playing in middle of night I ran up there busted in her room and she was asleep. I went downstairs heard it again, this time it sounded like it was actually outside above where kitchen is but out on our lower roof so I went back upstairs. I lifted curtain and blanket on upstairs window opened it and pressed against screen looked out back where our lower roof was to see if something or someone was out back wrapping curtains around me back to block any light expecting to see teenagers messing around or animals getting in metal trash cans outback after a few minutes of looking listening I seen nothing down below. Our home is white with aluminum siding so as I am getting ready to back in and close window to my right something caught my eye that's when I noticed what looked like a man in all black head to toe on roof to right of the window pressing himself against wall just a few feet away trying to stay out of sight. It had no features just pure black it was looking right back at me only it's head cocked slightly down towards me. I couldnt move at first couldn't talk my eyes were watering all hair on my body standing on end. Finally I was able to back away till it was out of view closed window locked it and told my misses the next day and she came clean about other stuff she had happen but was dismissing to not seem crazy like feeling someone getting into bed with her when she would just go to bed. My daughter saying people were in her room watching her sleep among other things. Sorry for the essay figured I'd share my story.

My dad is a skeptic, a Vietnam vet and was a firefighter after Vietnam til he retired. When he told me this, I felt sick. I live 3, 000 miles away from my parents so I see them once a year. The last time was shortly after his mother had passed away. I’m halfway in between believer and skeptic cuz I still live in the house my first fiancé “unalived” themselves in 2008 and I think I see things all the time but I always can dismiss it cuz I also think I’m losing my mind.

Anyway I was talking to them about some of these things and hours later my dad finally begins talking about 4 incidents he experienced, the first exactly one month after his mothers death and then again exactly one month later and so on. He would get up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom and smell her perfume throughout the whole house. I know her perfume, it was unique and very specific to her time (old people perfume, but cheaper). The last time he said out loud “I’m ok ma” and it never happened again. It’s such a brief and simple story but the circumstances around it speak volumes.

To hear a man who served on one of the most haunted carriers, the U.S.S. Lexington, who used to say all my experiences were bullshit, tell me this story while tearing up (I didn’t even see the man cry when his father died…and he refused to do the traditional father daughter dance with my sister at her wedding cuz he thought there was a chance he MIGHT tear up in front of everyone)…I mean…how can it not be real? Someone try to offer a rebuttal.

I seen one when I was around 10- 12 years old in an old house we lived in. They are so black that even in the dark you could see it, and it did just what that one did peeked it's head a little bit of a shoulder in my doorway. I remember I couldn't move because I was so scared, never mentioned to anyone until some years later. I'm 43 now and I get that creepy feeling back like it was yesterday.

Heard about the same thing at my girlfriend’s sister’s boyfriend, in his house. I wanted her to take me there to see them (2). And she said NO WAY! I’m never going back there. I tried several ways to at least take me there. She started sobbing (real tears) and shaking out of fear. Never got to see it …

Right after my mother passed (last relative), the spare bedroom light would be on when I passed that hallway on my way to the toilet. I would be woken up by what it seemed liked someone sitting on the far corner of the bed. I would try to see by sitting up or rolling over but it would then feel like someone got off that corner. First few times I ignored it as dreaming or being asleep and groggy. But after a while it would happen before I dozed off and then it seemed more real. Well, I had my last crying session and said out loud: I’m OK mom. I’m going to be OK. Stopped crying felt better and the light stopped and so did the bed moving …
So yes, I’m a believer …

I used to have this happen to me ALL the time. I had to keep my bedroom door shut growing up because i could feel it watching me and could see it out of the corner of my eye peeking around the corner. I once saw it out of the corner of my eye standing in the hallway. Full body silhouette blocking out the hallway light in the shape of a very tall man. Turned to look real quick and it kinda faded away but quickly. It was really weird.
