Mention is made of John doing a headstand in a Pocock 8"  I watched an uncle of mine, Wesley "Doc" Durnan of the Toronto Islands Durnan and Hanlan families perform a headstand in a racing single at the Canadian Henley at - the Royal Canadian Henley at St.Catharines, Ontario  in 1947.. He was 70 at the time.  He did it by lashing the oar handles together so that they became "outriggers." He then raised himself from the usual seating position and pressed himself  up into a headstand.  He had been rowing from the early 1900's, and was known in his later years for his rowing tricks.Ted English, San Luis Obispo Rowing Club, Lake Santa  Margarita
