Just wanted to point out that Caelum's TC 2 is actually an emulation of a Type 1 cassette tape. Hence, why there is such attenuation in the high frequencies and a low pass option that boosts bass. Type 1 tapes are known to lose a lot of high-end, so it's a thing worth mentioning/considering, especially if you want your mix to sound clear and have a clean high end. If someone knows any free Type 2 cassette emulations that work on Mac, then please tell me, since I need that sound atm.

Great recommendations. However, don't be mistaken you 'have to' drive hardware emulations hard like sage audio presents in the examples. Hardware is rarely used this way with the exception of parallel chains etc. The plugins sound great when used in their sweet spot though.

Nice video. Just a detail, Code Red Fee doesn't have a high pass filter, it is a bass boost instead. By the way, the reviewed version is an old one, the new one also has mid-side processing, check it out. Regards!
