Wow, what a first round match. It’s like Sharapova has just won the tournament. The interview as well was typical of a grand slam winner. Love or hate Maria but she brings so much enthusiasm to the game of tennis. Am sure the people came to watch Maria win at Arthur Ashe rather than to see Halep win. Did that make sense? Oh well...the hype, the excited that Maria brought to the game was amazing. She surely did not disappoint the crowd. What a night!

I love Maria Sharapova. The game has missed her. I don't know why something popped into my mind when she talked about her success on "Ashe" at night, 18-0 though. I swear I thought she was going to say something like, "Well, the main reason I have this record is that I've never played Serena at night here." I know she couldn't have actually said that but you know she had to have had that in the back of her mind.
