Great video! I learned a great tool for small jobs Is an orange wood stick with a little cotton wrapped around it dipped in a little remover or alcohol. I am a retired nail tech and I used all 4 of these things in my job.

Whenever we're prepping an apartment for painting, we remove all faceplates and soak them in the sink with hot water and degreaser (Dawn). Then wipe the dirt, grime, and paint off with a rag or green scrub pad.

Nice video! 👍👍👍 I haven't thought of using nail polish. It won't affect the wall paint will it? And like you mentioned in another video, the Mr Clean Magic Eraser is AHH-MA-ZING! I tried it on the wall in my son's bedroom where he was putting his feet. The dirt came off effortlessly. I couldn't believe it. You're right, the inventor of those.... Genius! I was thinking you could use them on the walls around the switches too. Those Erasers are magic! 🤩

we had those nice switch plates at nice house. here we have old type. hard to clean they are not smooth. detail matters when cleaning.

Its alot easier to just take the face plate off. Maybe not each time but periodically I just take the plate off.
