Had to come find the original. It's crazy how much we don't realize our music is being sampled from other works. I always loved Sia singing this song. Today I heard it by someone else and I had to do a quick search to find who actually made it. So glad I did! <3

This original version is beautiful. It's pretty eerie tbh. The chorus is unsettling and that much more gorgeous. Oh, and of course, The Pretenders and Sia both did the song justice.

This is such a beautiful song ... youthful rawness of Ray Davies, sweet melody, my favourite lullabye, which I sing to myself in my head in bed...

This song is an absolute jewel.
What makes it special are those pianos played in that "odd" way which give the song that peculiar sonority which l find to be lost in both Sia's and Pretenders' versions.
And which is present (and even mesmerising) in Anika's version, which is therefore my favourite cover.
