I genuinely love the "gun of the day" bit, feels like expressing a hobby to a friend

I still will never forget what Paramount marketing team did to Transformers One

Yeah, I freaking love Transformers one. It's just the trailer. Screwed it over.

I had been trying to figure out what was wrong with modern "teaser" trailers and you are absolutely right. I wish they would do them as before, it made movies a lot more enjoyable.

My favorite teaser trailers is Wall-e because you first see how the group were pitching ideas, and when they finally got to Wall-e you just see scenes of Wall-e pickup big up trash and just walking around the wasteland before stopping looking up at the sky as the clouds part revealing space, while the tagline reads “After 700 years of doing what he was built for. He’ll discover what he was meant for”

The Wild Robot Gave WAY TOO MUCH AWAY In One Of Their Trailers

Inside Out 2 did something like this with it's concept too, just more emotions. Which totally makes sense not only in terms of a sequel, but also reflects on real life too

While later trailers were more into the plot who try to get rid of the old ones, first get your concept out, than later your plot

More trailers should be like Inside Out 2 's approach

I still can't believe that The Bad Guys 2 released a full trailer over 2/3rds of a year before it released instead of a teaser trailer

Don’t forget the random obvious awkward dialogue being chopped up instead of the entire line

Also as a film student, this is extremely well explained for a short form video and should be shown in my classes

To be honest, the fnaf movie 2 trailer, is the first trailer in a long time that got me hyped, they didnt show that much but they showed enough to get pepole excited for it

Love the end of Up's plot "There is bird"

That’s EXACTLY what teaser trailer’s are missing. Something’s been feeling off with trailers nowadays. In fact, I’m pretty sure 99% of trailers (at least for family movies) always end with some random joke or awkward scene at the end of it.

The Superman teaser did it perfectly: They had like 2 lines of dialogue and showed so much that we became overwhelmed. That's only from the beginning of the film too. We get an idea about the tone. But still have no idea about the story.

I would add the Superman teaser trailer as another prime example of a great teaser trailer. It only had one full line of dialogue, but it was able to show all of the main characters and places within the film, without giving away any plot details, and allow the music and visuals to do all the work in getting people (myself included) hyped up for the film's release.

Other examples of great teaser trailers are Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning and FNAF 2, both use music and visuals to do the work in getting people hyped for the releases of both films respectively.

What if movie studios treated the trailers like authors treat the bit on the back of the book. The only thing it spoils is the IDEA, and it hooks you in incredibly well. I don’t know if this makes any sense though.
(The Barrett is my favorite long long gun in the world, so it’s cool to see it here)

As a Transformer fan I was sceptical about Transformers One after watching the trailer, but after watching it it’s EASILY one of the BEST transformers movies we have gotten, and I was so heartbroken to find out it didn’t do that well in the box office, I so badly want more Transformers One movies, but I kinda doubt we’ll get anymore now. 🥺

28 Years Later has some of the best trailers for a movie in recent memory. It gives you just enough to have questions and nothing more. Makes you really want to see what the movie has to offer. Its also shot perfectly, great composition, and pretty good acting.

They should do what Warner Brothers did for the minecraft movie, release an absolute cinema quote of “I… am steve”
