So basically, it is the Aussie version of Columbus Day.

I'm Australian and I never knew they felt like this. I'm so sorry. This is so eye opening.

USA:I'm stolen land.
Australia: don't forget me.

This is exactly what happened in South Africa. And then came apartheid. It's extremely sad what happened to our forefathers.

I simply can't comprehend why people care about ancient history. I know how much my ancestors suffered, but there's no emotion in it. It just doesn't bother me. They aren't my people. My family and my friends are my people.

I want a better world for the people here now, and for those who will come after.

Ok I'm a Australian and we do NOT celebrate it for any of those reasons!!! When we celebrate Australia day we do because we LOVE OUR COUNTRY, we are very fortunate to live they way we do in this great land!

I'd be happy to call it White Australia Day if that would make them happy...

Columbus Day. Same thing for the Native Americans, but we keep it alive to have a day off. The only reason it's still here. Other than that we hate it.

I love how they are all mixed beyond belief.

The thing is, this happened hundreds of years ago, and we aren't celebrating the bad things that have happened because of colonisation, it's a celebration of how far we have come since that happened. We celebrate our country for how lucky we are to live there. If we always look at how bad the past has been we will never appreciate how lucky we are today.

I've never felt so disappointed to be Australian. I mean the video made me feel terrible, but the comment section is so much worse. Saying that Aboriginal people had "nothing that was taken away, they only made some curved sticks" is disgusting. Reducing such horrible events to a mere joke is just gross. I don't understand all the hate; people accept immigrants from all over the world, but they can't accept people from the oldest living culture? Tomorrow is Australia Day, but I couldn't be less proud to call myself an Australian.

I have an idea Aussies! How about we celebrate Australia Day on the day Australia stopped "the only whites can enter this country" and on this day every one from everywhere can make their traditional foods Japanese foods, Middle eastern foods, Chinese foods, Mexican foods, Indian foods and even just a typical Australian BBQ. If there's one thing that connects people it's the love of food. It's the best way to celebrate Australia's open minded diverse culture we're known for and it's an amazing thing and the reason why I love Australia.

Australia Day should not be a day to celebrate the arrival of British colonies nor should it be a day to mourn the aboriginals. It should be a day to celebrate what it has become, the multicultural, democratic and free country that I am proud and grateful to live on as an Australian.

Interesting how they didn’t show more dark skin(Dark Brown as dark as chocolate) aboriginal people. No disrespect to the people in the video. But the white out narrative is still very prevalent here apparently.

I've never heard of this. Is it like Columbus day?

Could we please hear this from actual aboriginals rather than 1/6th casts who are more white than black?

I think people forget that most places in the modern world have formed from taking land from native people.

If the Chinese, Spanish or Portuguese came here instead there wouldn't be any Aboriginals left.
