You're not supposed to phonate in speed reading though, right? Maybe I'm wrong, but the way I was taught is to reduce phonation, and even mouth movements,

If anybody is interested in seeing people read really quickly out loud and have everybody else in the room understand them, look up college policy debate videos. People reading out loud 400+ words a minute
