Another great demo. Absolutely nothing wrong with using a boost with this amp, seeing as Lee himself always boosted his own amps.

Great demo bud! I’d have a blast with this amp. Right in my wheelhouse of rock/hardrock. My fav Jake tones are his Badlands tones and guitar romping. Always come by here to check your vids despite me not being a modern, high gain player. Entertaining and great amp demos. Keep em coming!

To really get it to sound harder with this kind of amp, do all that, add the boost, and, crank the volume. Like wine gets better with age, this design appears to get better with power amp drive.

It definitely got enough gain for me and how i would use it. Playing live metal music with two guitars going, it's enough gain in that situation. I own a HBE, and a 50 runt. I have used both for metal tones in live situation. Normally, the other guitarist would be using some type of 5015 or a Reto. It balanced out pretty well. Great showing sounds really good. Are you going to Q.C. it?

@Jarod, , ever consider having a super strat loaded with a Duncan JB or Dimarzio Super distortion(or even a EMG 81) laying around to demo these lower gain Marshall type heads? The lower gain Marshall type heads really do sound best with those pickups as opposed to the modern Petrucci dimarzio's which were designed to use with midrange heavy higher gain Mesa amps for John.

Nice job!! So does the JEL 50 have as much gain as the JEL 20 just more headroom and oomph for lack of a better term...and a depth control? Of does the stock 20 have more gain with that added sat switch?

Really liked my JEL 20 plexi channel but I could never get the lead channel to be warm enough. Any guitar seemed to have to much high end treble / presence Great amp for me on the Plexi side.

i brought my axe to MC to get new pots and when i came to pick it up i plugged into the 20w version. The guitar has Mick Thompson blackouts pups which I like to jokingly say are basically like having a boost built into your guitar because of how ridiculously hard they push amps and ran it through a boost which was some kind of Boss they had in there at the time and man that fucker sounded mean for a lil 20w dad rock amp. I am more of a high gain guy myself but not bad, not bad at all. Great video man, hope to run into you at Motor city one of these days n say sup...

It would have been nice if the amp was less wide, that way it could sit on top of a 212 Vertical cab and look symmetrical
