At this point, I have now accumulated over 7000 hours in Rocket League. This includes gameplay, training, coaching, editing videos, and anything else related. Today, I share with you some of the main things I didn't learn until I was already thousands of hours in to my journey.

My Links

There are so many things that I learned over my 7000 hours of game time. These 5 things are concepts I didn't fully understand until I had already put thousands of hours into Rocket League. The best part is, they can be applied no matter what rank you are. Whether you are gold or grand champion, you can still apply what's being discussed here. So get out there and rank up in Rocket League. I hope this video is helpful to those of you who have been wanting to see more educational content from me.

top three things I'm working on rn:

> solid contact with the ball
> playing close and not booming it everytime
> team play and passing rather than gloryhogging

hope to get these sorted out while I'm still sub 500 hours.

Exceptional video as always Wayton. It really is the best RL content with regards to tuts, edits etc etc. Whenever someone asks me about a RL topic, I always share your videos if it’s covered. I also ask everyone I play with on stream to watch your Rotations video first. Require them to actually. Thanks again for the great content my friend.

Honestly, I think Wayton is the best RL YouTuber. Super thorough with everything. I have definitely learned the most from him compared to other people that do tutorials. Thanks, Waytoney!!!

I've spent 400+ hrs working on rotations and positioning. I wish more would focus on it, because there are way to many superhero toxic teena out there who play as plats in any rank.

The "just do it" (force yourself to try things in game and learn new mechanics) is something I learned recently and it's helped me SO much. I decided to try air dribbles/wall aerials just for fun knowing damn well they're way out of my skill level with less than 80 hours in game. Then after learning it I realized how much it helped me with aerial control, boost management and wall reading and I got my first air dribble goal in a game yesterday. My friends are all amazed how much I've improved in such a short amount of time. Being timid in game was definitely holding me back.

I haven’t played for two seasons and i had played for about a week and a half, so I got off of rl watched this video, and got back on because I wanted to try what you said and I used to be around D2 but got to champ because of this video. AND WE JUST WON A CHAMP TOURNAMENT!!!

LEGENDARY VIDEO BRO!!! I personally think this is one of your best videos because after I watched it I realised how much it make sense! I cannot wait to hop into comp and apply these tips! I am going to work on my boost management and stop trying to improve on my freestyling when I do not yet have the mechanics. I will work more on my freestyling when I am better at the game. Thanks again for these tips, cannot wait for your next vid!

Wow Wayton. This is the exact video I needed at the exact time I needed it. I’ve been slumping for the last week because of poor decision making and I kept having the exact problems you were mentioning in the video. Good job. Keep it up.
