agree with everything but tip 8, I play this game for fun not to complete the game. I don't think that pulling for a character with bigger numbers will make the game more enjoyable if I don't like it.

Level 53. Here's my tip: Abandon Social Life

Tbh I'd say pull for the characters you want but be prepared to get ones you don't want in order to make it work.

As an Interknot lvl 56 here's my tips especially for beginners.
1. Don't touch your energy batteries to grind for lvl and disc drives until you finished the main story / sidemissions. you'll guaranteed to be lvl 45 without using it. you only use batteries for special purposes like grinding your freshly pulled S-rank's lvl, disc drives, W-Engine, skills and so on. you can save at least maybe around 30 and the extra ones can be used from time to time but don't use it to lvl yourself cause you're wasting it and you'll never get much in the later levels unless you pay for battlepasses or shop.

2. Plan your build ahead as mistakes will not only waste your energy but you also waste your precious DENNIES as high level agents are very expensive to build.

3. always maximize your hollow zero guide. the max weekly grind for z-merits is 900 which is equivalent to 6 runs for exploration(you can quit after the 2nd checkpoint) or 6 full-run for blitz and z-merits will save you alot for grinding Dennies and other materials while saving your energies later on.

4. Grind your Travelling mimo, Web events, and Twitch drops. If you're F2p or want to farm Polychromes for free, you definitely need to farm these especially if you want to pull more waifus without breaking your wallet.

5. Join Groups which can help you get redeemable codes. don't neglect them as getting codes can you ALOT of Polychromes as much as 800 Polychromes for free.

6. For whales or semi-whales, this is my recommendations to where you should spend your money first. Interknot membership > Battlepass(not the premium unless you're not grinding your battlepass) > Interknot packages(the one you see on the Shop with the lvl) > Polychromes

7. Level your skill points depending on the highest DPS & use priority. for example, for nicole, you need to prioritize in maxing her Chain attack/EX with at least decent Assist lvl i suggest at least 9/12. for basic and dodge, you can lvl them up later once you've fully built your team.

8. Synergize is optional but highly recommended if you want to S rank your Shiyu Defense. Time is crucial and if you want to S rank the Shiyu Defense, prioritize building your main 2 teams with the DPS/Anomaly agents at lvl 60. There are 3 teams which are you can build. Ice or Ether, Fire or Physical, then Shock. for example, if I have an ether team, i can skip building an Ice team momentarily or mix them both on a team. as for the 2nd, it's always either Fire or Physical while a Shock Team can be formed if the enemy weakness is Shock.

9. S rank bangboos > rank 5 A rank bangboos as the stat differences are just too great. choose Anomaly bangboos for Anomaly/Standard Teams and Faction Bangboo for a Faction team.

10. Standard S ranks are okay but Limited S ranks are just the goat. prioritize building your limited S rank first then build your other S ranks then finally A ranks.

11. Grind every achievement if you want to get more Polychromes for free.

12. Do not use any polychromes to pull for standard banners, as you'll get them for free later on. Save your 300 pull until you've pulled your 2nd to the last missing S rank character so you can pull the missing agent next. (Example: I'm missing Rina and Lycaon so once I get either of them, I can immediately get the missing one to complete my collection). don't pull on an existing character as mindscapes are not worth to waste your free S rank bonus and this only happens once too.

13. Pull for the S-rank Limited Character not the A-rank as you can always pull them on standard banner or other limited banners later on. promise, you'll cry if you accidentally wasted your pity or guaranteed to a limited agent you won't be using.

14. Do not buy anything from 141 convenience store unless you're 1 short because it's expensive. if you have too many dennies, save them as you'll easily lose 2m just by leveling a new agent.

15. Tuning Calibrators and Hamster Cage passes are the most important items in zzz. Use Cage passes only for limited S ranks and Tuning Calibrators for your Main 2 teams(Limited S rank first then S rank then A ranks).

The 8th tip is straight BS. Pull for whoever you want. Its a single player game so its pointless to get the strongest meta team and bs like that. Just pull whoever you want if you play for fun

These tips apply to basically any gacha game. Its all about resource management and understanding what you already have. My general rule is to be conservative with your resources until you find yourself stuck from difficulty.

Thank you so much for the tips, tricks and info, I’m currently at a Inter-knocks lv 39 and I’m glad I got to know all of these things before going to level 40-50. Thank you very much it was helpful

Ik this is 3 months late but i just started ZZZ about 5 days ago and im already rank 30, chapter 3

Im coming as an avid genshin player(i only played HSR up to 1.3) this is super helpful. The disk drive one is super true, even in genshin id recommend NOT touching artifacts till AR45 when you actually get good drops

I know I'm late but another tip I can give to new players is to READ what your agent do. So you can prioritize where to upgrade. For example, Nicole's biggest benefit is here core passive's DEF shred. Just focus mainly on upgrading that. Another example is Lucy's ATK buff that goes higher if you MAX her EX-Special only although you need to invest in %ATK disc drives for better buff. In other words spend your resources where it matters. Usually support agents dont require much investment to be fully effective, save most of your resources for your main DPS agent.

Optional tip: Please for the love of god build/pull at least one additional stunner, the game becomes so much easier with a properly built one. Koldea and Lycacon are super valuable especially.

Yup, after making a ton of mistakes in Star Rail playing for fun and only pulling characters I liked, I learned the importance of pulling characters that build strong teams to clear all of the end game content.

To add to Tip #3, only ever use batteries on guaranteed materials (e.g. chips/components/seals; dennies and exp materials are iffy but it's up to you). Think of batteries as a way of rushing a new character or engine to a usable level.
Using batteries for uncertain resources (i.e. disk drives) will only lead to waste. I wish I realized this when I dumped all my fragiles in Genshin so long ago, haha.

OP: remember to focus investing resources into your dps character.
Me: who doesn't even have a single S rank dps character yet.

Yo man, thank you so much for this guide. I'm someone who wants to play the game for the story and at a slower pace an. Ind to see so many videos about optimizing discs, who I should use, and all that jargon that I tend to have trouble understanding so when you said such as not to worry about discs and just focus on the core passives, it made me feel better. I definitely will try out more agents and keep playing an enjoyable yet mindful pace

I love Jane Doe and I love Harumasa and Lycaon. Do they work well together? Hell no. Do I care? Not in the slightest.

Using batteries early is a good thing; you level up faster so your natural stamina regen is able to be used on better rewards sooner.
It's better to alter what you spend that stamina on, as some resource nodes get better drops on x0 levels, and some on x5 levels

its a good thing the characters i wanna pull in the future are both cool looking/have a fun playstyle and will benefit me in the future with the long term plan I have so im immune to tip 8

All pretty sound advice. I bounce between zzz and genshin, and I know the importance of money and resource management and watching others give their opinions as to how to build their characters, so this video is great for people new to the game
