The difference between a multiband compressor and a dynamic EQ is that the MbComp works on a specific area of the spectrum (f.e., the mid-bass between 125-250Hz), while the DynEq affects only a specific frequency on which we need to work (f.e., 150 Hz)

What Waves needs is a dynamic resonance suppressor, comparable to Oeksound's Soothe. There's a whole new type of processing, and is much needed.

I would have liked to hear the vocal brought up in level slightly along with the mid-EQ dip trick. I could tell the mids were allowing the vocal more room, it's just too low in the mix overall.

Hi Brad, Thanks for a great review/demo.
Question: There are two choices at the bottom left under Global Release- Arc and Mnl (manual?) just curious what those are for. And then to the right of that there are 5 "up-down" choices...a great mystery.

Ok I looked it up in the manual (duh!)
"Sets the type of release for dynamics processing:
When Global Release is set to ARC, the ARC engine will calculate the shortest possible release time based on the signal’s envelope. This value will always be shorter than the Release setting for the band.
Global Arrows
Up/Down arrows Range depends on the control
Use these arrows to link certain controls on all bands, regardless of which band is selected. Move the arrows up and down to adjust the control above it.
Controls that can be linked: Gain, Range, Threshold, Attack, and Release"

Anybody else notice that the high pass seems difficult to get it to engage.
Click, double click, click again, keep trying and finally it lights up.
I’ve heard that from a few people.
Anyone else?
