Plumbing pex is typically flexible, all plastic and requires few fittings for normal install. This pex has an aluminum barrier to stop oxygen from diffusing thru the wall of the pipe.

This aluminum layer makes it perform more like copper when it comes to expansion and contraction thru large temperature swings. This makes it great for hydronic heating systems because it’s faster to install than copper. It’s also quieter.

In my country we had similar water piping but soon discontinued because in winter times -20°c if it freezes the pipe will burst and leak
