“A charity is due for every joint in each person on every day the sun comes up: to act justly between two people is a charity; to help a man with his mount, lifting him onto it or hoisting up his belongings onto it, is a charity; a good word is a charity, and removing a harmful thing from the road is a charity.” (Al-Bukhari, Muslim)

The Quran says that zakat can be to soften the heart of nonbelievers. During the when Muhammad peace be upon him was alive he paid certain amount to those who were opposing the message Islam.

Assalamalikum
As well all we are aware the Zakat rules that Zakat money can not be given to Masjid,
The question is if a person’s zakat money before reach to him and he passed away,
In that condition can his money could we give it to a masjid so that at least he may gets sawab E jariya. That will more beneficial for a deceased.
Please input or find a solution.

But the date would count as sadaqah no? My understanding is if you don't give cash for cash gold for gold etc then you didn't pay zakat? So was the Prophet Muhammad saws not allowed to receive sadaqah?

Zakir naik is biased in his explanation. Lets look at the Quran and Hadith.

Who do we give zakat to? Eight categories are mentioned [Surah At-Tawbah]. I have looked at the verse carefully [mentioned below] and the verse is clear about the categories. It doesn't say Muslim poor or Muslim needy [first 2 categories]. It doesn't say to free Muslim captives or those Muslims who are in debt [category 5, 6]. It doesn't say Muslim stranded travelers [8th category]. Therefore zakat can be given if someone is poor, needy, captives, for those in debt and stranded travelers irrespective of religion, cast, belief. The fifth category is to bring someone towards Islam - that person may not be needy, poor, in debt etc. Therefore this category is specific. Thus, Zakir is biased when said zakat is only for Muslims/ believers. This statement is not based on Quran. I have found this misconception propagated by other speakers and I'll be sharing this message to them.

Lets look at the Hadith- Sahih al-Bukhari 1395 - The obligation of Zakat - Narrated Ibn `Abbas:

The Prophet (ﷺ) sent Mu`adh to Yemen and said, "Invite the people to testify that none has the right to be worshipped but Allah and I am Allah's Messenger (ﷺ), and if they obey you to do so, then teach them that Allah has enjoined on them five prayers in every day and night (in twenty-four hours), and if they obey you to do so, then teach them that Allah has made it obligatory for them to pay the Zakat from their property and it is to be taken from the wealthy among them and given to the poor."
It says - "it is to be taken from the wealthy among them and given to the poor." It doesn't say given to the poor 'among them' [Muslims]; it says - taken from the wealthy among them [Muslims]. Giver has to be a Muslim not the receiver.

You may comment based on Quran if you feel to do so but please give reference from Quran, not your own assumption. Islam teaches universal compassion, not unrealistic division. An orphan, a disable, a refugee is poor, is needy. So, apply right understanding, be human. Stop complicating simple statements; stop extremism.

Reference from Quran-
Zakāh expenditures are only
1. for the poor and
2. for the needy and
3. for those employed for it and
4. for bringing hearts together [for Islām] and
5. for freeing captives [or slaves] and
6. for those in debt and
7. for the cause of Allāh and
8. for the [stranded] traveler - an obligation [imposed] by Allāh. And Allāh is Knowing and Wise. Surah At-Tawbah. 60.

Mr. Zakir
What about a syeda widow if she has no option except to go for prostitution due to hunger . Is she doesn't deserve zakat rather than going to prostitution

Then Zakir why didn't you use zakat to free Yezidi slaves? Not one MUSLIM did.

2. Since descent is traces paternally in Islam, tell me where are descendents of Islam? They are all descendents on Ali
