There is literally nothing to help understand what is going on here other than what looks like a spinning psychedelic sausage?

For those looking for more info here - if you click through to the article it says:
- this molecule is the protein outer shell of HIV. These are approx 50 by 150 nanometres large
- indeed, the main work was a simulation of the interactions of the atoms. At first sight there’s not much happening here in the animation but it the reason there is a shape to the model is the molecular forces are being calculated and a structure is maintained out of that.

So little context given to this video but a pretty impressive piece of work!

this is just a 3D model, I don't see any simulation taking place.

The Simulation itself is cool!
but i cant help but hear gollums voice saying: "what is it precious, what is it?"
would be nice to tell us what was simulated there, kinda doubt this pill is a random blob of dots 🤔
